James: Don’t Trade Grace for Pleasure, Prosperity or Pride (4:1-12)

If the church is purposed to be a community of God’s grace for it’s members and for the world, then why is it so often quarrelling with itself? James makes the solution clear: Christians must surrender self-centred desires, such as inordinate desires for pleasure, prosperity or pride, to be the community of grace it is called to be.
