Serving Our Neighbours

Serving Our Neighbours

New Song Church is intentional about forming long-term partnerships in the local and global work of sharing the Gospel and serving our neighbours.

Community Care Durham
Community Care Durham (CCD) is a multi-service registered charitable organization providing a broad range of support services for individuals over the age of 16 and their caregivers so that people are enabled to maximize their independence and thrive where they choose to live.

15% of Durham residents do not have enough money to buy food and essential items, and nearly 10% live below the poverty line. As food prices and inflation increases, so too does the need.

New Song Church is partnering with Community Care to distribute essential items to those who are in need in our community. 100% of your donation today will go directly toward caring for our neighbours.

We are looking for essential items. The most import items are, shampoo/conditioner, body wash/soap, toothbrush/tooth paste, incontinence aids and deodorant. Other needed items are, hair brushes, tissue, lip balm, hats/scarves/gloves, gift cards, pillows and easy to wash blankets (not wool), and bags that we can assemble the items in for distribution.

Operation Scugog
The service provides essential items for individuals and families who are experiencing a challenging time. The are open during the pandemic and working from outside with curbside puck to keep everyone safe. Those looking to donate to the food bank, some items needed at the moment include canned stew, canned ham, jam, condiments, size 5 or 6 diapers, and pull-ups. Operation Scugog is open on Wednesday’s from 11:30-4.

Aanandit Aid to Nepal
Nepal is one of the poorest countries in Asia. More than a third of the country’s children live below the poverty line. Aanandit Aid to Nepal is a registered Canadian charity that is dedicated to raising funds to send to Nepal to aid in poverty relief, especially to support children to help them towards a better future. We also support relief as and when it is needed for help with earthquakes, landslides, and other natural disasters.

Anglican Relief and Development Fund Canada
At the Anglican Relief & Development Fund Canada (ARDFC), we believe that Christ’s command to love our neighbours as ourselves is integrally linked to His commission to go into all the world and make disciples. The ARDFC is committed to partner with the local church in some of the neediest areas of the world toward long-term, community-transforming development projects.
