Community Care Durham
Community Care Durham (CCD) is a multi-service registered charitable organization providing a broad range of support services for individuals over the age of 16 and their caregivers so that people are enabled to maximize their independence and thrive where they choose to live.
15% of Durham residents do not have enough money to buy food and essential items, and nearly 10% live below the poverty line. As food prices and inflation increases, so too does the need.
New Song Church is partnering with Community Care to distribute essential items to those who are in need in our community. 100% of your donation today will go directly toward caring for our neighbours.
We are looking for essential items to assemble Christmas Care Packages. The most import items are, shampoo/conditioner, body wash/soap, toothbrush/tooth paste, incontinence aids and deodorant. Other needed items are, hair brushes, tissue, lip balm, hats/scarves/gloves, gift cards, pillows and easy to wash blankets (not wool), and bags that we can assemble the items in for distribution.
Items can be dropped off at these locations from now until December 5th:
- Focus on Scugog 250 Queen St.
- New Song Church 14460 Simcoe St.

The ARDFC is committed to partner with the local church in some of the neediest areas of the world toward long-term, community-transforming development projects.
Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Roatan, Honduras
The Rev’s Nelson and Kara Meija write, “Our ministry is based in Ephesians 4:12: Perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, to continue to establish the Episcopal/Anglican Church in the Bay Island and to reach as many of the local population to became followers of Jesus Christ as possible. It is our hope that we can lead the people to live a better Christian life by providing the spiritual support and resources to help them grow and learn and serve our God. In addition, our church building is designed to be used as a Hurricane shelter in case of emergency. Many local people find solace in our building, seeking spiritual support, friendship, parenting advice, and advice about life in general. Our building has hosted many events (besides church services) since it has been built such as comfort and community dinner, sewing classes, temporary free medical clinic, and youth events.
